Amazon’s Android based Kindle Fire creates a new space for Tablets
Oct 3, 2011 Android Tablets
When talking about the tablet industry, iPad has pretty much ruled the roost for some time now. But, with the entry of Amazon’s Kindle Fire in the market, the competition has been set ablaze. Priced at just $199, which is $300 lesser than the iPad, the Kindle Fire is an impressive Android-based media tablet.
Retailer Giant, Amazon has always has advantages over price and is effectively using this strategy for the Kindle Fire. The Android Tablet comes with Wifi but has no 3G. Instead of competing with the iPad, Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, plans to create a completely different space for the Kindle Fire starting with the price.
In his letter to his customers, which is presently on the Homepage of Amazon, Jeff Bezos has stated “Kindle Fire brings everything we’ve been working on at Amazon for 15 years together into a single, fully-integrated experience for customers”
The Kindle Fire comes with instant access to Amazon’s massive selection of digital content, a vibrant color IPS touchscreen with extra-wide viewing angle, a 14.6 ounce, dual core processor, free storage in the Amazon Cloud, and an ultra-fast mobile browser – Amazon Silk.
Amazon Silk is a new web browser which is available exclusively on Kindle Fire. This Video gives us a preview on how the new web browser works.

Android Tablets will beat the iPad in terms of sales.
Oct 14, 2010 Android Tablets
Despite the fact that Google is warning tablet makers not to go with the Froyo release if their tablets are sized over 7 ” , tablet makers just don’t care until their product is slick .
Google wants a better UI and high grade user experience on tablets sized over the 7 inch criterion , which according to Google is not possible with the Froyo which is generally a smartphone OS and limits to a maximum of 7 inches . As said before this is a possible cause why LG delayed its tablet release until further notice from Google . While few tablet makers have already outed their 10″ tablets but as said by Google such devices will not be able to access the Android market .
The iPad of course is the best ever selling tablet till date but managing director and senior research analyst Gene Munster from Piper Jaffray says that tablets are next big thing in computing ( after the desktops , Notebooks , netbooks , PDA and smartphones ) and Android is going to be the most popular operating system on tablets and the current market will see a drastic shift from iPad , the only available tablet in the market to thousands of Android tablets in the coming years from multiple hardware manufacturers with variety of options like size , colors , carrier choices , technology and pricing as low as $199 for a low end Android tablet when compared to the basic iPad version which costs around $500 and still lacks some key features like camera .
The prediction makes sense and gives a chance to Android app developers to make some serious profits out of android app development with so many options available today .
Would you be interested to grab one for your kids ?
