Have you been in a situation where your kids would wish to go to a restaurant or park but you were  unsure of the places nearby? And most importantly whether your kids would like the restaurants or  Museums? Mom Maps is a solution to all Moms who would like to find fun, kid friendly locations on the  go! The popular iPhone app for Moms is now come to the Android Market.

Mom Maps is an interactive and user-friendly Android app, which allows moms around the world to search for fun and kid-friendly parks, museums, playgrounds, indoor play areas and restaurants. With a GPS enabled Android device, you can find places along with ratings and reviews provided by the parent community.

You can browse through places “mommapped” by other parents. Create your account to remember the places your kids prefer and mark them as favorites. It serves as reference and review to other parents as well. The search functionality is also well organized. You can also search for places either by Name or distance. You can also narrow down search results by the distance you wish to cover. If you would prefer to travel only 3 miles, your search results would be displayed accordingly.

There are many other apps that serve similar purposes but what’s different about Mom Maps? First of all, it has an easy to use interface and you can find information very easily. The GPS on your phone finds your locations and gives you list of locations which have been liked by other parents, on the go. This is a great feature which acts as reference to other parents and helps makes faster decisions. This is a cool app for the summer, as you can plan vacations and places to go with your kids.

This is a free app, available in the Android Market. Mom Maps was nominated as one of the top 5 mobile applications in Mashable’s Open Web Awards 2009.
