Google branded phone : The Nexus 2 or Nexus S ?

The next Nexus (Google branded ) phone is about to land in the market and there have been a variety of rumors about its manufacturers ,phone name and specifications but now that Gizmodo had a third party hands on with the device and there are reasons to believe that the device is coming from Samsung , we could very well call it the Nexus S considering the built and the brand in mind . While it has been reported that the the device is running a bug filled built of Android OS which is supposed to be no other than Gingerbread .

Hands on the Nexus Two by Samsung

The Nexus S features a front facing camera that will take advantage of the upcoming video chat feature in GTalk and will be an essential requirement on an android app developers phone . The phone also carries the same 4″ AMOLED screen as seen on the Galaxy S and feels slimmer due to its tampered back and concave front . The phone still feels plasticy like the Galaxy S . The above image is a mock-up by Gizmodo based on their sources description.

At first blush, it’s a little disappointing that Google possibly isn’t pushing things forward in the same way they did with the Nexus One, since it seems like the Nexus Two is a refreshed Galaxy phone. On the other hand, it says a lot that the Android ecosystem is so stocked with high-powered phones, from the Evo to the Droid X, that even Google won’t radically jump ahead of its partners with a new flagship. Hopefully their plan for selling it is a little better.

Dell Venue Pro will run on Android OS

Windows phone 7 on dell venue proDell windows mobile 7

Windows Smartphones are loosing the demand these days after the ‘iPhone’ and ‘Android’ thinge and the effort Microsoft is putting in to push their OS in the market is grabbing the attention of geeks . Its not too long Microsoft unveiled their Windows 7 series phones and it was Dell’s Venue Pro which grabbed the attention of geeks more than others did , perhaps its because of its the beautiful looks , a superb screen or the portrait physical keyboard which the 4.1″ screen hides underneath will soon be coming with Android OS .

Plenty of people want it though they don’t want the Windows Phone 7 . The best part is Dell has plans to launch this device in future with Android OS and this would be delighting the Android geeks who don’t love turning their Milestone/Droid every time they shoot texts to their buddies .According to a new report from PCWorld, Dell is indeed planning on launching another version of the Venue Pro. It will have the same body and looks, and apparently will resemble the Venue Pro in just about every way — other than the mobile Operating System , but it will feature the same 1Ghz processor , and 4.1″ touchscreen display. As of now Dell hasn’t revealed the launch dates neither do we have a word on the version of Android it will carry . But Dell needs to change its outdated OS packaging policies like it did with the Streak . Lets hope for some ginger chicken or ginger bread .

PayPal payment option finally lands in the Android Market

Paypal payment options in Android Market have been in talk for a while . Not only android app developers but also users have shown their interest in this mode of payment due to the lack of paid app support in many countries . Though Google is trying hard to get paid app support to almost all major countries but for the time being Paypal is considered to be the savior of Paid apps in Android Market . Google will hook into PayPal to automatically transfer payments from your PayPal account to your Checkout account (it wasn’t said if this was optional, but the wording doesn’t suggest as much) . Check the screenshot below :

We assume that paypal’s android market integration will go live after its ‘X-innovate’ Paypal developer conference going to be held today and tomorrow ( 26th October -27th October ) in San Francisco

According to the profile page for Android app developers, there is now an option to add your PayPal account, so that you can easily transfer funds from it over to your Google Checkout account. Its clear why Android app developers need Paypal accounts ; to accept our payments via Paypal .

That’s all we know for now, but the framework is in place and we suppose everyone is just waiting for Google to flip the proverbial switch. Perhaps this will enable users in other countries to purchase applications that they otherwise wouldn’t have the option to purchase. That would be very nice.
